My name is Margaret Turner, the creator of OnlyKindWords!
I found my inspiration for this app after having experienced bullying myself at a younger age. As I finished middle school and entered high school, I learned bullying amongst students and peers was a serious issue affecting more students than I realized. I remember how alone and isolated I felt when I was the target of a bully. It would have been nice to know that I wasn’t alone! Wanting to take a stand, I created this web-based app that allows anyone to share their experiences with bullying, either as themselves or anonymously. Learning how one kind word or comment can positively impact someone’s entire day, especially at a young age, I decided to create this platform that’s easy to use and encourages kindness. Today, as a B.R.A.V.E. ambassador, I visit schools locally and across the country to help students and teachers learn and discuss ways they can help stop this serious problem and become a part of the solution!
